1. memory works (craft-making nalang plz)
2. recitations because i don't like getting attention to myself
3. noise of whatever form
4. big groups because i prefer intimacy
5. my vocabulary
and yet
1. memorizing is the only way to pass some subjects in school
2. public trial is part of a fair litigation
3. silence is not even observed in my dorm nor in the library
4. growth is generally measured in number
5. i can understand the Bible with the common words i know
i still desire to be a plain housewife
1. to clean the house and wash the clothes of my family myself
2. closely guide my children in their schooling
3. play with my kids over the weekends (basketball, badminton, bowling, chess)
4. watch cartoons with them and prepare their meals
5. allot time to prepare for sunday school lessons
then why go to law school
1. God told me so
2. if i will be a pastor's wife then i have to help in financing the family needs
3. i also want to be a teacher (law is something i can teach)
4. it is the best option i have
5. law school, as Annie said "teaches one more about life than about law"
in law school
1. i had my first failing grade
2. i can read 8-10 hours in a day
3. i have this 3-point-route (dorm, school, and church)
4. i am in a private school
5. i run and join parlor games
and in law school
1. i learned how to move on and to sympathize with one who goes through the same valley
2. i learned more about endurance, perseverance and patience
3. i learned more about contentment where a good sleep is more satisfying than new clothes and malling
4. i learned that poor and rich people have the same reasons to be sad or to be glad
5. i learned to love more by sacrificng my study/sleeping time to practice for competitions that i never joined before
ABOVE ALL in law school by God's grace
1. i enjoyed much the Lord's provision and faithfulness
2. i developed discpline in my devotions
3. i became more prayerful
4. i met special people who are constant encouragements to me
5. as always--i am filled with love by my family, friends and churchmates

2010 first sem is YOURS
seeking his own rests in the heart of all
not willing to understand nor to compromise
ears and eyes seem to be close
oh selfishness how could you take the throne
the calendar is limited to accomodate everybody
a single vote can conclude a majority
if change is inevitable
can it be attitude instead of the dates?
focus is not by the number of days
in fact, it may invite laziness and waste
Lord, please reveal unto us what is enough
five, seven or ten, only You who knows best
quite grumpy of the rescheduling
Lord take this away soon
You do not take pleasure in complaints
how weak, Lord be our strenght
whatever tomorrow may bring
we have every reason to sing
cause You are faithful and sufficient for all
God please accept our apology
these concerns surely distract
but thanks to God for these we run to Him,
confessing and willing to start anew
Father, grant us with happy, loving and content hearts
speak to us personally
gather us corporately
in Your hands we commit this semester
have Your way dearest Master

D sweetest sounD
In my Kindergarten yearbook the nick indicated there was 'TATA" and i remember that my brothers teased me "tata-lata" when we quarrel because my nose is flat unlike theirs. Our Villa neighbors call me "ADAK" because the name of my lolo is "Adok. i introduce myself in school as "ILDA" but my kababatas shout "BUDAKIS" to make me look their way. My mother told me that they want "Ana" as my name but my grandparents insisted on "Ilda" since I am the "juniora" of my tatay "Ilde.
i was 10 when my kuya named me "BUDAK" which means chubby that somehow confuses me because i was thin then. Oh! how I wish to correct the nasty spelling in our Grade school yearbook--- "VHODUK". Only my close friends in school call me "daks" but when my kababata and i became classmates during high school, my kababata never called me ilda but let everybody knEw the "dux" guess what? ---the monosyllable-name bacame a fad that we called each other of our nicks (Rye for Ryan, Che for Rosschelle, Eng for Irish, Chem for Cherry Mae, Cheng for Cherrylene, Anj for Angelie, Myang for Mayrie Lovella, Jays for Jason, Rein for Reinhard, Sag for Isagani, Mon for Raymond, Hae for Altheamae, Yen for Karen etc...)
i am only addressed as "ilda" when scolded with the "marie" after it hehe.. my family or shall i say my clan managed to adopt "dux" from "ilda" with the exception of a few of course specially those who i only mingle with during rEunions. i used my nick in creating my ym account 11 years ago.
During college, i think only my teachers call me ilda :)and the same in law school. For 12 years the creative folks modified my name into:
1. DAKI -- by my ate or others when they are sweet or when they ask a favor
2. DUXOLOGY-- by Shajani to relate me to study
3. DUXIMOS -- by kuya Jex and i don't know why maybe he finds like a "hippo" hehe
4. DUXTH -- by kuya RJ maybe because his bible is King James Version
5. DOX -- by ate Jolina, she said that it sounds like "box"
6. DUXIE, DUXY wala lang ewan
7. FLASHLIGHT-- tita grace, nawala ang dux, ang linaw at dilat raw ng mata ko
8. BUDIK -- ate jing, for "idik" or piglet
9. DANG- by mommy CeliaMae
10. DACKS, DACS, DAX, DUCKS, DUXEY, -- WRONG SPELLING
whatever name they call me i would always be certain that it is I who they refer to and i think that is the same with the Lord whether we call Him, Wonderful Conselor, King of the Jews, Savior, Almighty God, Jesus, Holy Spirit etc---He knows that it is Him who we address to.
