Healthy Heart, Body and Soul

pic taken from happyandraw.com

Acid is produced in my tummy because of stress that is why I resorted to drinking lemon water to cleanse my stomach from it. Two Sundays ago, I bought three (3) American lemon seedlings at Oval Plaza and one of which has a flower already which I hope will form into a fruit soon :-)  Mahal kasi ng lemon sa mall, halos fifty pesos ang isang piraso :-(

Though I no longer have hyper-acidity, the lemon water continues.

I love eating vegetables and I am not fond of those with preservatives therefore I have no problem with my diet. I am trying my best to be consistent with my pampapawis activities to stay fit and vibrant hehe It is not hard at all to get back to my former cardio health considering that I've been athletic most of my years.  For the last two months, I failed to get back on the track because of my tight schedule but I still braved to run the 3k Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE) Fun Run. I'll try winning next year. FLO had 19 participants.  Another fun run is set on the 21st of this month. It is a run for a cause event where the proceeds will be used to finance the youth camp of Victory (a fellowship run).

One way I bond with my cousins and friends is through playing badminton with them. Aside from the health benefits that can be derived from it, I ENJOY it so much kaya gora lagi ang lola. Badminton and halo-halo or kahit yelo nalang ay bihira kong tinatanggihan :-P nyahahaha

Cha is my constant companion lately in joining church fellowships, watching movies and malling. Di kasi ako mahilig sa grupo. Pang one on one lagi ang beauty para macareer ang friendship :-)

I hope and pray that her name will be included as one of the passers of the 2014 Bar exam which result is expected to be released next week. It is awesome to have another lawyer in the office specially that she is a sissy in the Lord. We will be dividing the workload as to court hearings but I am more excited as to how we will use our profession to bless others. She is from Lake Sebu kaya time will come that she will be 4th coy's best pal due to proximity. Not that I am leaving them but their interests will be better catered if distance is not a problem.
I look forward to getting a teaching load in our city's law school so that I could influence more people "future lawyers" to partner with a PNP unit for the better welfare of the community and of the men in uniform.

Speaking of friendship.
1. My best friend's (Angelie) due is on the 30th of this month, plz pray for strength, a healthy baby, normal and safe delivery.
2. Althea is back to China.
3. Karen is coming home for a vacation on April after staying in Australia for two years.
4. Mayang lost her baby last November but she is now 10 weeks pregnant. Praise God :-) Please pray that it'll be a good pregnancy this time.
5. Luli (Faith) who is now in Iloilo informed me that they are expecting a baby boy.

Karen is that girl at my right with pink backpack. Amazing it is to have your high school classmate, good friend as your sis in the Lord later. We both became born again christians during college in Iloilo. In the pic, we were with the visiting team from Calvary Chapel Bible College, Okinawa, Japan.  Going to said school was one of my options after college but God directed me to go to law school instead. Being a lawyer does not stop me from maturing in His word and being involved in the ministry.  "I'm not just earning units with you but I'm also learning from you as you continue to live a life of obedience to Him. Thank you for being a sister and a friend to me, Chix! Grateful to have you in our lives. -Luli"

Going back to the topic of health, I bless the Lord that one of the effects of losing weight and regular exercise is having a healthy reproductive system. I have my period today for the month of March :-) It has been coming regularly/monthly since June of 2014 without the need of taking pills. I stopped taking the same since September of 2013. I therefore conclude that the culprit of period irregularity was excessive stress and unhealthy lifestyle of being static most of the time. Having regular period gives me hope that I am destined to marry and have my own family. Hahabol lang ako sa mga friends kong preggy hehe As for now, i-enjoy role na ninang and wonder tita mom.

Convo with Anj

Me: unya, unsa man ang name sa baby boy?
Anj: Junior ni Adlee sa karon pero kung girl kay ako hatag name.
Me: La pa gani kagawas ang panganay kay next na dayun gina-isip. baka makadosena mo ana ha
Anj: Hihi 6 amo target dux
Me: Wow! Ako na ang ika-7 :-)
Anj: Paghimo ug imuha uy!
Me: Nah! ampu-anan paman, asa nato ako pakner in life hehe
Anj: di baleng matagal basta magtatagal :-)

I always believe that it is worth the wait.

The choice to be healthy is not only for our own benefit but an act of worship knowing that God desires that we take care of ourselves. We could serve Him better if we we have sound bodies and it is sin to deliberately destroy the same specially that we are not the owners thereof but God. How can we take care of others if we do not take care of ourselves.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

To those who has vices, God is able to make you overcome them. Just cooperate with Him because with God nothing is impossible. Every great thing starts with one's commitment to achieve it. The decision is ours. CHOOSE WHAT IS RIGHT :-)

Self-directed detours (repost)

When he came to his senses, he said, “How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.” Luke 15:17-18

What would you call a person who sees the road sign, clearly marking the highway leading to his destination, yet he deliberately turns off the road and begins to willfully meander in a different direction? A dawdler? A philanderer? A prodigal? Or what? Yet the reality is that lots of people take detours—not because the road is barricaded, or the path is not well marked, or even because they don’t know the right way to go. It’s simply that they don’t want to go where they know they ought to go.

Long ago there lived a man who knew exactly where he was to go but he chose to go a different direction, a self-directed detour. His name: Jonah, and lest you think that he never lived, remember Jesus Christ talked about him when He ministered here on earth.

Jonah’s destination was the great city of Nineveh, Assyria, but the detour led him west on the Mediterranean instead of northeast to Assyria. He boarded a ship, fully intending to take as long a detour as necessary to shake responsibility and reshape his personal identity. Detours, however, are not without consequences. The road or path often gets pretty rough. It’s always more difficult when you put your back towards God, family, and duty and go another direction.

You know the story! A great storm ensued, and Jonah admitted that he was the problem. He learned quickly that taking detours doesn’t eliminate problems; they compound them. Jonah’s detour resulted in unexpected calamity. He ended up being thrown into the angry waters and—whether or not you can swallow this, it’s true—he was then swallowed by a great fish until he decided that self-directed detours only result in more trouble than they are worth.

As Warren Wiersbe points out: “The main character in this book is neither the prophet nor the great fish but God, who is mentioned thirty-eight times.” It’s really the story of a man who detoured from what he knew God wanted him to do, and when confronted with difficulty, decided to change directions, do an about face, and then go God’s way.

When you take a detour—whether it is from your family, from what you know is right, or from God’s purpose and will for your life--you become a fugitive from happiness.

I’m thinking of a young woman who took a long detour. Living and traveling with a truck driver, she wandered into a convenience store at a truck stop, picked up my wife’s book Created For a Purpose and began reading it. The more she read, the more miserable she became, and when she got to the next truck stop, she called her dad and said, “Come get me. I want to come home!”

Jesus talked about a young man who did the same thing. He left home and took a detour ending up in disgrace, misery, and poverty. Jesus said the turning point was “when he came to himself!” In other words, there the reality struck home: “You have been a real fool. The detour isn’t where you really wanted to go. No matter how embarrassing or humiliating it may be, the best thing for you is to get back on the right road.” When that time comes, you change directions and head the way God wants you to go.

A final thought. You can’t always retrace your steps but you can always get to where you should go from where you are. Chance directions, friend, and it can change your life. Your wife, your parents, your God will be far more forgiving then you have any idea. Self-appointed detours are ended when you have the humility to see where you went wrong and decide to get on the right path.

When You Take A Detour On Purpose

CERTIFIED BABY LOVER

who could resist the charm of this cutie?
that baby smell lures me to cuddle him often
i could last for hours staring at his peaceful face while he is asleep
and when he smiles, the fireworks explode

i tickle him but i am the one who laughs more
i touch his skin, it feels like satin
when i kiss him, i think i am licensed to do it forever
the joy that this little angel brings keeps me coming home everyday

at His feet, I lay down Zian's future
may he grow up a noble son of the King of kings,
a gentle knight of His kingdom,
a humble servant of God and his fellow man.

Matthew 19:14
14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it

The Hunt

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

If we keep ourselves joyfully anchored on His leading then we are able to discern what He wants of us to do with our lives. It is more than getting our prayers granted but Him writing in our hearts what to want, hope and pray for.
I was 18 when I first read the trilogy books of the Lord of the Rings and since then I desired to own copies thereof. After 4 years, when I already had the budget to buy them, most of the bookstores I went to, ran out of stocks
frown emoticonand when I finally found a store where the books are available--- it lacks one of the books (first book, FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING). Whenever I visit the bookstore, I kept asking for its availability and I consistently received the same response. Other interests came in mind that I forgot about it BUT last night, before going home from the mid-week service at Veranza Mall, Booksale caught my eye then BOOM I saw it and I bought it. However, I got reminded of another collection I've wanted to have too, the Left Behind Series, and I prefer the compiled version thereof. Of the ten volumes, two were available but I only bought one hehe kasi wala pa budget (next time na ang other 9 smile emoticon
Blessed to have copies of these and you can borrow them my beloved friends. Meron din ako collection ng Narnia--birthday gift ko to myself 5 years ago smile emoticon Next month, makokompleto na ang Manga Bible series ko.

Of the secular collection, I want Sherlock Holmes :-)

PNP is a tattoo in my heart and 4th coy is a brother for keeps

Stewardship is everybody's call
Whether it is knowledge, trust or over a tangible thing
We take care of it as if it is the last of its species

Whatever gift we receive from above
We endeavor to enrich and share it to our brothers
The heart is blessed more in giving than in receiving

We may finish our race without literally laying down our life for another
But we have a long lifetime to think less of ourselves and more of others
A little sacrifice becomes a source of bundles of joy

The equation of love is dividing to multiply
What you have from God need to be passed on
Who you are in Christ is meant to touch lives

As we heed our calling
We do not miss meeting wonderful people along
Cool friendships develop even on a day of bonding

To Ai, Jo-an and Pen
I'm fine that you keep addressing me ma'am
And I look forward that we will be "kumares" in due time
