raise your hands in surrender and praise

pic taken from FB

Two of my great friends lost their babies this month.

Last October, Mayang and her hubby Kevin were here in Gensan for a visit. After the wedding of a friend, we went to the house of Mayang's parents for a simple high school get together and there we were joking about her getting pregnant anytime soon. She happily informed me last November that God answered our prayers regarding conception however early this month, she texted me for a specific prayer for comfort because the baby lost his/her heartbeat. :'-(

I went to Iloilo December 2013 to attend his wedding. His wife is due to deliver the baby anytime next week. I was as excited  too for them and I asked what they would name the baby boy, kuya said "El Nathan Rex" or Nate for short. El means God while Nathan means gift. Then a few days ago :-( I was informed that they lost the baby.

Adding insult to the injury, my dorm mate in Casiana Dorm (2007-2012)  died on the stop last December 19, 2014 due to a vehicular accident somewhere in Kipot, Banga-Surallah. I tracked the same road on that same day in attending a Christmas party in Surallah. Her mom and other companions in the vehicle also died. That was really tragic.

Life indeed is short and for some (the fetus)-- they have not even seen the light yet but they right away joined their Creator. May God's comfort and restoration be upon my friends and their families in times such as this.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Everything Has Its Time

1 To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;

3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;

4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;

7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;

8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

GOD IS FOR ALL SEASONS

Nothing is certain in life but God and His love for us
When we are blissful, we have Him to thank to
When we walk through the valley, once we look back, we'll only see His footprints

Friends and family bring invaluable support to us
Their words and prayers bridge comfort to our weary souls
Their availability to give a tight hug to the grieving proves God feels our brokenness

Let the tears flow and let God dry our eyes and cheeks
Let Him bind and heal our wounds
Let time tell that He is faithful to answer our desperate calls
